Sahil N Aaryaa: An Exquisite Blend of Cultures
“A great marriage is not when the ‘perfect couple’ comes together. It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.”
– Dave Meurer
When Sahil’s friends took him to meet Aaryaa, nobody knew that they had set up a perfect match! Although Sahil N Aaryaa did not know each other then, the eventual bonding could not be ignored. The then strangers met each other through mutual friends and instantly hit a connection. They used to study together in a university in the USA and are quite the converse of each other. Aaryaa hails from Nepal and she is more of an outgoing, tomboyish, rather adventurous person, while Sahil on the other hand is relatively simple and compassionate. But as they say, “opposites attract” these two found out that they were meant to be together.
We at Frames N Films have met a lot of unique couples and Sahil N Aaryaa happen to be sui generis!
They celebrated their distinctiveness with quite a pomp with them performing the rituals in both Indian and Nepalese traditions for which they chose Sahil’s hometown and the majestic city of Mumbai. The entire journey of this inter-cultural wedding was filled with excitement, splendour and warmth, which began with a shiny gleaming Sangeet ceremony. Everyone wishes to have their closest friends and families on their wedding day, but unfortunately the bride, Aaryaa’s parents could not come to join the celebrations due to visa issues. Thankfully we live in a well-advanced time and believe it or not, but the entire wedding was streamed live to the US for Aaryaa’s parents. It is so fanatical that technology sometimes has such great impact on us and it all seems unbelievable yet, it happened. With all the positive spirits, everyone participated in the union with utmost joy.
Sahil N Aaryaa made their way to the beautiful Sangeet location at The Fern, Powai, hand in hand with their guests beside them under a sky of glorious fireworks and of course one needs to be totally comfortable when dancing their heart out, so Aarya chose to wear her favourite sneakers for the Sangeet! The pictures of the night came out to be indeed magical, and are uploaded on our Instagram and Facebook handles for all our folks to watch and enjoy.
The lovers of four years finally tied the knot in the winter of 2019 with immense grandeur. Since they come from differing ethnicities, they decide that it was best to celebrate both of their cultures. Traditional Nepalese Swayamvar and Mamera events were performed wherein Aarya wore an ethnic saree along with shimmering Jimmy Choo sandals, looking every bit a beautiful Nepali bride, usually dressed in and decked out. But Nepali grooms, by contrast, have a certain reserved style, topped off with a great hat and Sahil left no stone unturned to stun the guests wearing the “daura suruwal”.
Amidst the awe-inspiring city scape, Sahil N Aarya performed their wedding rituals, also in traditional Hindu rituals. The prepossessing pink decorations, ravishing outfits, and another-worldly union of the two cultures stemmed into some picturesque events and our team at Frames N Films did justice to it by capturing each and every moment of emotion, jollification and love with perfection.
